Mark Kendall


Mark spent four years as a commissioned officer in the British Army before joining the family company in 1998 as a buyer. He went on to become Procurement Manager and Procurement Director, managing all our procurement work, both in the UK and in our network of overseas offices. In that time, he has won and delivered multi-million dollar contracts for overseas governments. In 2005, Mark was appointed Operations Director for the whole group. Since then, he has overseen and developed the Group’s commercial activities, including the launching of new businesses and integration of those we’ve acquired.



Martyn Bishop

Managing Director

Martyn joined Charles Kendall in 2005 as Group Finance Director, bringing with him 30 years of substantial international commercial and operational experience. With a degree in Biochemical Engineering, he qualified as a chartered accountant in 1982 and in 1988, he became the youngest partner in Anderson and Binder Hamlyn, before spending six years as Finance Director for a fully listed international food company. In recent years, Martyn has introduced cost saving measures for the group, and has been pivotal in the negotiation of a number of recent acquisitions and in the establishment of new business ventures.



Terry Bowen

Commercial Director, Charles Kendall Consulting

With over 25 years’ experience in international procurement and project management, Terry is responsible for business development and marketing and has identified, bid and negotiated long-term high-value contracts in the Development Aid sector worldwide. Donors include World Bank, EU, UK Government (DFID), EBRD, EIB, Sida, Danida, Australian Aid and USA MCC. His experience includes managing large, complex programmes where technical procurement assistance, capacity building, and training are key, as well as procurement and consulting projects in Africa, Asia, Latin America, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, Australasia and the Pacific. Terry is currently backstopping support Director for a number of major development aid programmes, including the MCC Ghana ($498 million) and MCC Senegal ($540 million) programmes and the Australia Aid programmes worldwide. Terry is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).



Scott Dicken

Director, Charles Kendall Consulting

Scott has extensive experience delivering governance, public financial management, public procurement, value chain, and capacity building programmes in countries across the globe. He has successfully delivered consultancy services and programme leadership on behalf of multilateral and bilateral donor organisations as varied as the UK Department for International Development (DfID), The US Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC), The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), The Government of Japan (JICA), the World Bank, the Danish Agency for International Development (DANIDA) and the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation in over 20 countries and holds extensive knowledge of international public procurement laws and regulations. 

He has developed multiple procurement and contractual policy frameworks, procedures, manuals, and suites of contracting documentation, and has designed and implemented multiple procurement and contract audit frameworks. Scott holds a Master’s degree in Public Procurement Law (LLM) from the University of Nottingham, and is a Full Member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS).



Greg Edmonds

Managing Director, Charles Kendall Australia

Greg is the Managing Director of Charles Kendall Australia (formerly Project Procure) and has over 20 years’ experience in procurement, contract management, project management and cost reduction. Greg has worked with several blue chip Australian companies such as Woolworths Ltd, J.J. Richards & Sons and Energex Ltd, and high-profile organisations in various market sectors including retail, waste management, infrastructure, public service and resources. Greg’s industry exposure includes transport, construction, retail, defence, aviation, manufacturing, mining, oil and gas, and information technology. Greg has dedicated considerable time to the provision of services to government agencies and government owned corporations, both in Australia and internationally; specifically in developing government procurement capability. Recently, Greg has made a substantial commitment to the Government of Indonesia, driving the Procurement Modernisation Project on behalf of USA’s Millennium Challenge Corporation.



Mark Henderson

Director, Charles Kendall Australia

Mark has 18 years experience across the Government, Defence/Aerospace, Utilities, Automotive and Resources sectors. Mark has built his knowledge and experience through senior roles in ENERGEX, Boeing Defence Australia and the South Australian Government. Since joining Charles Kendall Australia, Mark has led and delivered numerous engagements to clients in Oil & Gas, State Government and Local Government.



Matthew Jeans

Head of Private Client Services

Having worked extensively in the Gulf since 2008, Matthew now runs our Private Client Services department where he and his team focus on looking after the Charles Kendall Group's long-standing client relationships. With over 40 years combined experience, Private Client Services understand the importance of "soft-diplomacy" and the value of the deep-rooted friendship they hold with their clients. This enables the team to offer the appropriate support, advice and seamless quality of service in both London and our other European locations.



Peter Sunderland

Managing Director, Charles Kendall Freight

Peter has over 43 years of sales, operational and senior management experience, in both large multinational logistics organisations and smaller, independent ones. Peter was appointed Managing Director of Charles Kendall Freight in 1999 and has led the transformation of the company from a Middle East project-focused business into a global supply chain solutions driven business. Offices have been established in the Far East, Europe and the USA to complement the strong regional network of offices in the UK and Middle East.



Ian Jenkins

Director Global Trade, Charles Kendall Freight

Ian has spent over 40 years in the logistics industry, holding senior management and sales positions in both the UK and USA. Before joining Charles Kendall Freight, where he is now Director - Global Trade, he worked for 15 years in New Jersey. Ian joined the CKF board of directors in 1998, and has led the company’s remarkable growth globally in both air and sea freight and in the North American market in particular. He has also worked closely with CKF’s portfolio of multinational customers to deliver global solutions on turnkey projects, including risk assessments in some of the world’s more volatile regions.



Simon Harris

Middle East Director, Charles Kendall Freight

Simon has over 25 years’ experience in freight forwarding, much of which he’s spent with Charles Kendall in the Middle East. There, he’s managed and implemented the logistics of large oil and gas and infrastructure-type projects. Most recently, Simon has helped shape the strategy and direction of CKF, particularly in the Middle and Far East where he has overseen the development of a new enterprise in Dubai.



Peter Bedford

Finance Director, Charles Kendall Freight

Peter is a senior finance professional with over 15 years’ experience. In this time, he has worked with account management and procurement teams, operations and IT development across different industries. Proficient in financial operations, international trade, leading working capital and cash flow management, developing management information systems and reporting, financial control, audit and statutory accounts; Peter is a member of the ACCA (Institute of Certified Accountants).



Murray Frew

Operations Director, Charles Kendall Freight

With over 20 years of industry experience Murray joined Charles Kendall Freight in 1999 and is responsible for CKF’s Operations by ocean, air and road. During more than 15 years of management time within the Group, he has overseen both the growth and the diversification of our product offering in all markets. A consolidation and project specialist, Murray has been instrumental in delivering ‘best in class’ solutions to our diverse customer base. During his tenure Murray has gained valuable experience in the field in Europe, Asia & North America.



Keno Cheung

Far East Director, Charles Kendall Freight

Keno started his career in Air and Sea Operations upon joining Charles Kendall in 2003. He has successfully built, developed and continues to maintain significant sales growth in the Far East. Keno enjoys coordinating our extensive network of partners at a variety of international conferences and having overseen the transformation of our early representative offices into fully operational branches; Charles Kendall Freight in Hong Kong continues to prosper. In 2013 he was awarded the Young Achiever Award of Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transportation (CILT) in Hong Kong and was “Highly commended” in the International Young Achiever of the Year 2014 organised by CILT International. Keno is the youngest Director in Freight’s history.



Linda Martin

UK Operations Manager, Charles Kendall Freight

Linda joined Charles Kendall Freight in 1987 where she concentrated on air and sea import/export cross trades. As UK Operations Manager, her main focus remains overseeing the team in Birmingham whilst working closely with the exports department at Heathrow, and wider teams located at our Southampton, Bournemouth and Felixstowe branches. In-between all of this, Linda finds time to visit existing and new clients.



Darren Harris

Managing Director, Charles Kendall Packing

With over 30 years’ experience in the export packing industry, Darren has an in-depth knowledge of both case making and packing. Qualified in packing and the carriage of dangerous goods by air and sea, Darren was responsible for establishing the company’s quality assurance programme and has overseen the expansion of packing capabilities in Manchester and Southampton servicing multiple industry sectors across the length and breadth of the country.



Miles Holden

Business Development Manager, Charles Kendall Packing

Miles has over fifteen years’ experience within the export packing and freight forwarding industries. He helps contribute to the provision of a cost effective solution for clients in both Packing and Freight tailoring requirements to their specific needs whilst also concentrating on growing international opportunities.



Andy Hartwell

Group IT Manager

Andy has been with Charles Kendall for over 25 years. Over this time the IT landscape has changed considerably from deploying early word processing machines in a single office through to today's complex multi site and international network infrastructure. Andy has been at the helm of the department through the introduction of Internet and E-mail and other advancements and although based in our London Head Office also manages the overseas data centres of the group. The continual growth of the Group and integration of new acquisitions and partnerships ensures that Andy and his team are kept on their toes.
